The Great Awakening of the Church is here. These are the Last Days. Throughout history, God has worked through people to bring makind into a spiritually prevailing position under which men will see a strong demonstration of the Holy Spirit's revelation and power.

The Power and Purpose of the Church
From the day the tomb of Jesus was found empty, His Church was being built. It may suprise you to learn that the purpose of the Church has always been more than telling the good news. It's about more than breaking bread, hearing about salvation and turning away from sin. In fact these are just the teachings that Paul describes as "milk" in Hebrews 5:12, but "solid food" is for those who are "grown up". The power of the Church is found within its people who listen to what the Spirit of God is saying right now. Currently we live in an important time, which Jonathan David calls the "Decade of Destiny". The years 2000-2010 will literally pave the way for the return of Jesus Christ, who is coming for His Church. Each and every one of us alive today has a purpose for this time.

What the Church is Really For
Satan is described in the Bible as a lion that devours souls. He's referred to as the one who deceives the whole world and who has power over it. Corrupting the wisdom that he was given to rule over the angels, Satan fell from his position when he desired to be worshipped above God Himself. Since Satan controls anyone who doesn't accept Jesus as the Son of God, we know that he has authority over anyone who falls into this category - and would deceive "even the elect" if it were possible. He even tried to tempt Jesus, waiting for His lowest point before he struck. At the time of his fall, about one-third of the angels fell with him, today known as demons or evil spirits. These evil agents operate invisibly on Satan's behalf. Their job for Satan includes tempting human beings to fall into sin, which grows and brings death. Even if their own sin does not bring death, while a human being is sinning God cannot use him as a vessel to demonstrate His glory on the Earth. For this reason, Satan and his angels continue to lead men into wars and all acts of evil. The more human beings Satan can kill, steal from or destroy the less men God has to fight with.

God raises up strategic men to fight against these powers of darkness. Every time a human being changes his life to conform completely to the will of God, He can work through them to defeat these evil forces and to win many more people who follow that persons example. The Church is a body of believers that must all work together to do the work that God is currently calling us to do. Each person who really is following God will be given a spiritual gift to work with. In fact, many of us have gifts that we can grow for God until they become so abundant, entire nations become attracted to what we are doing with our lives. One of Bethel's main goals is connecting people with their spiritual gift in order to achieve their God-determined purpose in life. Jonathan David, a preacher and prophet who currently shares revelations from God with countries across the globe, refers to each persons calling in this age as the "Dabar". The Dabar is the proceeding word of God that carries the destiny of God into your heart.

Who we Fight
Paul says in Ephesians 6:12, "Our fight is not against people on Earth but against the rulers and authorities and the powers of this world's darkness, against the spiritual powers of evil in the heavenly world. That is why you need to put on God's full armour. Then on the day of evil you will be able to stand strong. And when you have finished the whole fight, you will still be standing." Jesus came to give us life - a life not ordinary but abundant. By allowing yourself to be redefined by God, the quality of your life will become a light that people will be attracted to and follow.

Weapons of Mass Salvation
Paul says in 2 Corinthians 10:3, "We do live in the world, but we do not fight in the same way the world fights. We fight with weapons that are different from those the world uses. Our weapons have power from God that can destroy the enemies strong places. We destroy peoples arguments and every proud thing that raises itself against the knowledge of God. We capture every thought and make it give up and obey Christ."

I'm Still Standing

Satan knows his time is very short and is doing everything he can. Allow God's love to truly reach its goal in your heart and share with us to win the victory over evil so that God's Kingdom can be realised upon the Earth and throughout the Heavens. Jesus Christ tells us in Revelation, "Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door I will come in."
