Religions cause war - believers don't. The Gospel never once teaches that a human being should hurt another or commit suicide in the name of God.

Terrorists don't follow the Bible (we think they wrote their own). Any suicide bomber that believes they'll be greeted by 70 vestal virgins in the afterlife is going to feel SERIOUSLY short-changed! Many leaders have been clever enough to make people follow their own agendas by using the name of God to get what they want. What better way to confuse good people into doing bad stuff than by having them believe they're doing it for God?

A number of atrocities have been committed in the name of Christians in the past, such as those who took part and supported The Crusades and The Spanish Inquisition. Not only did this result in many lives being lost, but it tarnished everything that the Bible stands for. A couple of thousand years ago, Jesus warned people that many would come in His name - He even spoke of a time when any man who kills another would think he's doing it to serve God.

Just so you don't have doubts about the freedom that God wants us to enjoy, here's what the Bible says contrary to any man-made ideas of terrorism or "Jihad"...
